So many choices of excellent golf courses to play, the highest number of courses per capita in the nation, and they are all challenging, well-maintained, and the best part, affordable to play. So if you're planning to visit, bring your clubs, you'll enjoy golfing in Utah. Here's the scenario, you're in Salt Lake for a few days, whether it's business or for any other reason, and you want to play golf at a good course. Here are the Best Golf Courses throughout Salt Lake City as Ranked by Bob O. of the Salt Lake Tourist & Visitor Center. 
Salt Lake City Golf Courses... Three favorite SLC golf courses are Bonneville golf course and the two Mountain Dell courses because they are challenging, fun to play, but more importantly because of the views, incredible! Bonneville, Now, almost one hundred years since the opening of the original nine holes, Bonneville continues to be renowned for its superb conditions and classic layout. Situated on the East Bench of Salt Lake City, just minutes away from the heart of downtown, this gem offers awe inspiring sunsets and views of both the surrounding mountains and the entire Salt Lake valley. Bonneville's Official Site Mountain Dell's Two Courses, The Mountain Dell courses, situated 12 miles east of downtown Salt Lake City and at an altitude of 6,000 feet above sea level, offer 36 holes of breathtaking views and frequent glimpses of wildlife. The higher elevation provides ideal summer golfing conditions. The Canyon Course stretches up the eastern mountain from the clubhouse approximately four miles before looping back. Mountain Dell's Official Site Wasatch Golf Course in Midway is another favorite of ours. The well known Mountain and Lake courses at Wasatch Mountain State Park are consistently ranked among the most popular, affordable and scenic in Utah. Nationally, Golf Digest rated Wasatch Mountain as one of Utah's Best Places to Play, giving the facility 4.5 out of 5 stars. At an elevation of 6,000 feet, golfers enjoy cooler temperatures during summer months, but surprisingly, the course also offers early spring and late fall play. Northern Utah Golf Courses Valley View in Layton is another incredible course! Well maintained, picturesque, a public course and yes, affordable. Southern Utah Golf Courses Hobble Creek up Springville Canyon, roughly 60 minutes south of Salt Lake City in Springville. (801) 489-6297 Hobble Creek Golf Course Sand Hollow Golf Course in Hurricane is Southern Utah's premier golf destination, featuring 27 holes of spectacular golf across two unique onsite courses. The Championship Course contours through threatening ridgelines and ancient red rock outcroppings, while the Links Course brings traditional Links-Land golf to the Desert. Spacious practice facilities complement the award winning courses, and encourage all types of players to take a swing. Official Website Sun River Golf Course in St. George has find its niche. Sun River offers a refreshing combination of challenging desert golf with generous fairways and true greens. With a player-friendly design, friendly atmosphere and competitive green fees, Sun River has become a hit with locals and visitors alike. Golfers will enjoy endless views of beautiful desert vistas, red rock cliffs, and the mountains surrounding the Virgin River Gorge. Official Website The Ledges Golf Course is a 5 minute drive north of St. George on Bluff Street. The Ledges Golf Club offers world class golf unlike anything else offered in Southern Utah. You'll admire the natural beauty and breathtaking views of the surrounding sandstone mountains while enjoying your round. This facility boasts conditions that rival, and even exceed, conditions at private clubs. Official Website Entrada at Snow Canyon Country Club in St. George is located in the desert southwest of southern Utah, northwest of downtown Saint George, a top ranked retirement community, known for its year-round golf, desert climate, and 300 plus days of sunshine. Entrada is a private gated golf community of fine homes surrounding the Johnny Miller Signature Design 18-hole golf course, a top rated year round golf course in Utah.
